[wpvideo efbQKNJ1]

Chosen as a flagship model for the brand’s launch, the Marine Tourbillon TMA01 V1 is the first model within the Windward collection, one of the brand’s two lines. By combining specific elements of style and sophistication found on nowadays Super-Yachts together with the culture of Haute Horlogerie, the Windward line redefines the codes at the heart of the 21st century’s marine timekeeping. This line of exceptional timepieces was designed to be worn both on land or sea. Under all conditions it still retains the prime predicate «adventurer of the seas.»

Every detail of the Windward TMA01 V1 timepiece refers to its sea faring credentials, such as its helm’s inspired crown, the pushers and their protectors evoking the superstructures of great modern yachts, the wind rose on the secondary crown, the starfish lying on one of the movement bridge or the asymmetrical hand outlines inspired by the shapes of sails. Every Windward TMA01 V1 represents the apex where the avant-garde and tradition simultaneously meet.

In order to maintain and guarantee this high criterion of rarity and quality that we set ourselves, we design, develop and manufacture our own movements. Based on our automatic flying tourbillon caliber with unusual annular rotor construction, our movements integrate new solutions and features. These were specifically invented and developed in the spirit of creating an ultimate 21st century sea-faring chronometer worthy of the exceptional marine chronometers from sailing’s golden history.

Inspired by a map’s compass rose, the movement’s style and finishing characterize a complete and original identity uniquely identifiable as MONTANDON&Co, setting a new aesthetic canon, never seen before.

A particular secret for the owner of a Windward TMA01 V1 is its specially designed ‘iris’, which mechanism that permits its adjustable opening, controlled via the secondary crown. When opened, the magnificent Flying Tourbillon at the heart of the movement is unveiled, and when closed, this watchmaking complication becomes a secret only known to the owner, perfectly protected from magnetic fields and hidden from view.

The case that houses the TMA01 V1 movement was also completely developed and manufactured in house. Fully conceived and designed in the spirit of the brand, it comprises a high degree of sophistication with over 35 components required to assemble it. From each of the uniquely shaped case screws that seal the anti-glare treated sapphire glass with the watch’s casing to its special crown, everything has been designed with extreme attention to detail and quality. Water resistance is guaranteed down to 50 meters. It is available in white or red solid 18K gold, grad-5 titanium, Carbone composite or even in bronze.

Each timepiece is customizable according a catalog of options and the wishes of the end consumer for whom it is manufactured on order only.

Two deployment buckles along with two straps are delivered with it. Every watch comes into a luxurious travelling bag which contains also numerous accessories such as a rotobox, a Loupe System to admire all of its details, a special maintenance kit, Selvyts and gloves.

Breguet «Tradition Dame 7038»

Rado HyperChrome 1616

A new retro timekeeper for the adventure-minded man

(Lengnau, Switzerland – 2017) Pioneering Swiss watchmaker Rado is beefing up its vintage-inspired offerings. A colourful new limited edition model is being added to the bold, nostalgia-infused HyperChrome 1616 line-up.

Boasting an unmistakable late-60s build, the HyperChrome 1616 cuts a striking and masculine figure on the wrist. Measuring an eye-catching 46 mm across, its boxy dial is visually impressive, reminiscent of the outsized aesthetic of the era. The hands and indexes are similarly heavyset, forming a striking contrast to the vivid blue of the dial. The hardened grade five titanium case fastens to the wrist with a thick textured vintage leather strap, rounding out the look of this retro reedit.

Vintage revival
The HyperChrome 1616 is Rado’s modern interpretation of its vintage Cape Horn collection, first launched in the late 1960s. The name is taken from the year in which Cape Horn was discovered – a feat not to be underestimated, given the difficulty and danger of the sailing route. Thanks to the rugged construction and 10 bar water resistance of the HyperChrome 1616, this is a watch suitable for a wide variety of adventures, both on land and off.

Rado’s quest for unprecedented designs and materials began in the 60s and has continued unabated till this day. With its old-meets-new approach, the HyperChrome 1616 is the perfect embodiment of this mission. The nostalgic design of the watch is proudly rooted in the brand’s past – a clear nod to the general glory days of the 60s – while its oversized construction is a contemporary twist that reflects Rado’s boundary- pushing approach.

This new HyperChrome 1616 joins three other timekeepers in the collection – one hardened titanium counterpart with a light-coloured dial, as well as two high-tech ceramic pieces in black and brown, respectively.

Linde Werdelin «X CYKELMAGEREN»

INTRODUCING THE LINDE WERDELIN X CYKELMAGEREN BICYCLE – a passion project inspired by craftsmanship and a lifelong love for bicycles

Linde Werdelin introduces a hand-built bicycle that has been made in collaboration with the famous Danish bike maker Rasmus Gjesing aka Cykelmageren.

The mastery of design and finish of Cykelmageren’s bikes are of same attention to detail as the innovative watches from Linde Werdelin. “The harmony between bicycles and watches is obvious. They both only work with your own energy and both are amongst the most sustainable products made. They can run for centuries if treated right and are 100 percent carbon free,” Morten Linde says, explaining why he decided to make a bicycle with Cykelmageren.

[wpvideo Ppz5eEay]

Danish Culture
The bicycle is a part of Danish tradition and culture. The first Danish bicycle club dates back to 1881 and in Copenhagen alone there are 560.000 bikes to 520.000 inhabitants. 63 percent of all members of the Danish parliament, located in the middle of Copenhagen, commute daily by bike proving the love for the two-wheeled means of transportation.
With these numbers in mind as well as an all-time love for bicycles Morten Linde and Jørn Werdelin, the two founders of Linde Werdelin, decided to create a unique and hand-built bicycle with Cykelmageren.

«I decided to produce as much as possible myself, because I could not find the components I was looking for. This way I can get precisely the bike I have in mind making the frame, pedals, brake callipers, integrated lights and other vital parts,” Rasmus Gjesing says.

Share The Same Values
“We all remember our first bike, just like we remember our first wristwatch,” Morten Linde says adding the emotional values that are connected to both products.

“Jørn and I have known each other since we were six years old and we have always had a great interest in bikes. When we were kids we nerded bikes and spend a lot of time sourcing special parts to custom make our otherwise standard bikes. And making this special bike with fellow artisan Rasmus Gjesing is an ode to our childhood as well as an ode to craftsmanship, attention to detail and sustainability.”

Made To Measure
Rasmus Gjesing, who has been making bicycles since 1994, has a very traditional approach to frame design. But his bikes that are all handmade in an old sawmill 50 kilometres from Copenhagen are far from ordinary. His small crew of four spend their days in a 100% hands-on environment.

His bicycles are all made-to-order and with this in mind Linde Werdelin has added their Trigon pattern into the pedals and on the retro inspired gear shift as well as fitted a special wired cable cover, making it a unique masterpiece that takes approximately 30 man hours to design and assemble.

Linde Werdelin x Cykelmageren
The Linde Werdelin x Cykelmageren bicycle can be ordered in two different frame sizes (56 and 59 inches). The bike offers a handmade vintage style three-speed gearshift fitted in the top frame.

The engine turned wooden handles (made from wood from the sawmill that houses the workshop) are painted in the Linde Werdelin blue logo colour. The unique wired handbrake cables offer an instant brake via the handmade brake calliper.

The handmade frame has a zinc primer and is painted in the Linde Werdelin blue colour and each bike has a bronze plate with the individual number engraved. A unique light system can be integrated in the frame.

Montandon & Co. «Windward»

TMA01 V1
IN THE SPIRIT OF SUPER-YACHTS

By combining specific elements of style and sophistication found on nowadays Super- Yachts together with the culture of Haute Horlogerie, the Windward line redefines the codes at the heart of the 21st century’s marine timekeeping.

Chosen as a flagship model for the brand’s launch, the Windward TMA01 V1 is the first model within the Windward collection. This line of exceptional timepieces was designed to be worn both on land or sea. Under all conditions it still retains the prime predicate «adventurer of the seas.»

The tight lines of the Windward TMA01 V1 cleverly conceal its resistance to the elements, and its elegant visual codes allow it to be worn befitting all times and occasions.

With the launch of their first timepiece, the Windward TMAO1 V1, upsetting all the existing codes, MONTANDON&Co pioneers in using Bronze for the execution of a horological complication.

This nod to a historical material from marine history is possible thanks to a specially developed alloy guaranteeing total electrochemical stability, further complemented with a bezel, pushers and guards in grade-5 titanium.

Linde Werdelin «THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY»

«THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY» – A LAUNCH OF OUR CLASSIC 3 TIMER INSPIRED BY KRISTIAN HAAGEN

Linde Werdelin is proud to announce the launch of our classic 3 Timer in a limited series of 33 pieces. Over the last few years we have noticed an increasing demand from our clients for the original models that we launched some 10 years ago.

Earlier this year, watch connoisseur and expert Kristian Haagen expressed an interest in owning the 3 Timer brown dial that sold out within a month when made in 2009, and has even compared to missing out on the watch all those years ago, to missing out on one’s first love.

Morten Linde thought it the perfect opportunity to offer Kristian his own customised edition 3 Timer and extend the offering to our loyal clients and followers around the world who share the same passion for our classic, retro timepieces.

Inspired by Kristian Haagen’s rugged yet sophisticated style and love for traditional and earthy colours, Morten created a beautiful olive brown dial and matching textile strap put on a classic steel 3 Timer case.

The 3 Timer is a GMT able to track three time zones and is the perfect sports watch for the modern and adventurous man, signalling functionality, great design and elegance.

The new 3 Timer with the earthy brown dial has as a twist with an accented tip for the GMT in red. The watch is mounted on a dark green textured calfskin strap that again reinforces the earthiness of the brown dial, giving this limited edition a new point of view.

With this 3 Timer relaunch a limited edition of 33 watches will be available worldwide, a few Linde Werdelin connoisseurs will again be able to secure ‘the watch that got away!’.

URWERK: Remembering «The UR-103»

With the UR-103 models, URWERK takes its ‘no limits’ approach to haute horlogerie ever further. Four orbiting and rotating satellites display the hours, with each satellite indicating the time in a both analogue and digital fashion as it arcs across the minute chapter. This sophisticated and ground-breaking complication is the result of years of research, development and testing.

The principle technical challenge was ensuring excellent isochronal performance of the satellites while minimizing friction and loss of energy. No simple task as, together with the supporting orbital cross, the satellite complication weighs in at 160 times heavier than traditional hands. URWERK’s co-founder and master watchmaker, Felix Baumgartner, took up the challenge and chose high-tech materials to minimize mass and thus maximize chronometric efficiency.

The four hour-satellites of the UR-103 are crafted in aluminium and are suspended under a grade-2 titanium orbital cross. The complication is mounted on a non-magnetic ARCAP P40 base plate providing superior strength and stability to traditional metals. The hour-satellites complete a full revolution under the orbital cross every four hours. As the satellite approaches the crown position, an internal Geneva cross causes it to undergo a 120 degree rotation on its own axis. This 120 degree rotation positions the next hour for its turn indicating the time at the front of the dial.

Over a one-year time span each orbital cross completes 2190 rotations and each satellite 730 revolutions on its own axis.

URWERK’s integration of a Control Board on the back of the 103 was a world first for a wristwatch. This ‘dashboard’ features a 43-hour Power Reserve indicator, a Chrono Meter with minutes and seconds facilitating accurate time-setting, and, in a nod to Abraham Louis Breguet, a Precision Adjustment screw making it possible for the owner to precisely regulate the timing of their UR-103 to match their own lifestyle. An exceptional complication merits an exceptional case and in the UR-103 series URWERK’s gifted designer and co-founder, Martin Frei, exceeded himself. Beginning with the geometrical base of a square and a circle, Frei designed a three- dimensional asymmetrical case the likes of which have never been seen before. Machining the UR-103’s complex form is a major engineering feat in itself. As Felix Baumgartner says, “URWERK’s innovative timepiece is the result of nearly three years of development and a further two more years of testing. . . the end result went beyond our dreams.”

Ulysse Nardin «Dual Time Manufacture»

Montandon & Co.

The new Swiss brand, MONTANDON&Co, is driven by the personal passions and years of expertise built up by its founder, Daniel M. Montandon. He has taken up the challenge to create innovative and highly demanding Haute Horlogerie timepieces in service to those who are seriously involved in the world of international yachting, from Lake Geneva to the world’s oceans.

The timepieces created by MONTANDON&Co are marine chronometers destined for conquering the aquatic firmament, utilizing the best traditions of marine timekeeping wedded with 21st century innovation for the ‘masters and commanders’ who view the Seven Seas as their domain. These timepieces represent the epitome of synthesis between the avant-garde and tradition, entirely manufactured in Switzerland in the famed watchmaking area of the Vallée de Joux, with the purest respect for the local craft skills and canons of Haute Horlogerie.

MONTANDON&Co’ s ambition and challenge is to create original and sophisticated timepieces in terms of movement and case, united with a holistic view of the design elements of both. For this reason we control the design and manufacture all of our components closely, starting from the initial designs to final finishing, with exact demands applied to every detail.

Our philosophy also includes extreme attention to physical aspects such as comfort and usability under rigorous conditions, thus guaranteeing our timepieces are a pleasure to wear under all conditions, whilst simultaneously providing useful everyday functionality.

Raised in the culture of fine watchmaking
The horological knowledge and passion that flows in the veins of MONTANDON&Co’ s identity can be traced to the generations of Daniel M. Montandon’s background. He grew up in a world fully infused with all the traditions and values that form the heart and soul of Swiss watchmaking within a renowned family that marked the watchmaking industry with their footprint. André, his paternal grandfather, was an independent watchmaker in Le Locle and the well-known manufacture Eberhard & Co was founded in 1887 by Georges Eberhard, his great grandfather. Following a spirit of adventure during the mid- 1940, André his father, became one of the first official representatives of the Swiss Watch Federation in South America at that time. André Heiniger his uncle was the President of Rolex for over 40 years during its period of incredible worldwide expansion.

With a personal history such as this, it was only natural that Daniel M. Montandon would be drawn to follow his family’s footsteps, and in this capacity he worked for many years with several major brands. The fall of the Berlin Wall launched him as a pioneer of Haute Horlogerie in the Russian Federation as well as other East European countries, where he was responsible for the introduction and promotion of prestigious high-end brands.

The irresistible challenge of the Seven Seas
Daniel M. Montandon’s passion for the nautical world was evident at an early age when he participated in his first regattas at the age of 12. Later, this passion would draw him into establishing a career in naval architecture during which he received international acclaim. During this period he collaborated with leading shipyards specialized in the construction of large modern yachts such as Perini Navi, inventing and developing numerous devices to improve the performance, safety and maneuverability of these tall ships. His fascination with the marine world extended his interests to include scuba diving, a sport in which he still participates during free moments in his busy schedule.

David Candaux
Coming from generations of watchmaking background and a child of the famed watchmaking area Vallée de Joux, David Candaux is a master watchmaker and constructer of movements. He is the author of famed contemporary masterpieces of watchmaking. With the idea of taking ‘solo flight’, he decided to establish a Ferme Horlogère (historical watchmakers’ farm) encapsulating the heritage of the Vallée de Joux, to apply his numerous talents for prestigious brands.

Seduced by the philosophy behind the MONTANDON&Co project, he became the ideal partner to provide a mechanical life force with innovative ideas for the brand. The universe of David Candaux and his team thus engage in perfect harmony together with that of MONTANDON&Co, providing a pioneering mechanical spirit infused with the watchmaking traditions of the Vallée de Joux.

Montblanc «Antoine de Saint-Exupéry»

[et_pb_section bb_built=»1″][et_pb_row][et_pb_column type=»4_4″][et_pb_text]
