CronotempVs Collectors presents a new take on the Sixty-Five by Oris with an exclusive limited edition of 65 units
In the sixties, explorers of the magnitude of Jacques Costeau, Hans Hass o Christian J. Lambertse where implicated witnesses of the advances in deep sea diving. An adequate legibility of the instruments was key to control diving times. Oris was a major contributor and innovator during those times with the creation of some of the first diving watches.
It was in 2015 when Oris decides to reinterpret a diving watch that was created back in 1965. This is how the Sixty-Five collection was born. Inspired in the design codes of the first diver, a new collection has come to include not only all the original details but also all the advancements of modern day manufacturing.

A part of history
Without a doubt, the strengths of this proposal by Oris resides in a combination of a historic and vintage design with the construction quality of the case and reliability of their automatic movement. On top of that, the Sixty-Five offers an unbeatable price- quality relation.
In 2016, Oris launched the 42mm case as a limited edition and homage to Carl Brashear, the first Afroamerican Master Diver in the United States Navy. Brashear’s story was told in the motion picture “Men of Honor”, where he was portrayed by the actor Cuba Gooding Jr. Inspired by the rescue divers of those times, Oris chose bronze to pay tribute to Master Diver Brashear. It is this year that CronotempVs Collectors and Oris have come together to create a tribute to the Sixty-Five that initially saw the light in 1965. This time, the “Spirit of Sixty-Five” pays homage to the watch itself by only making 65 units.
This tribute to the watch is presented with a unique grey-fume dial inside a 42mm case and the classic black aluminium diver bezel insert.
On the inside it harbours the Oris 733 Automatic mechanical calibre with hours, minutes, seconds function.
Protected by a domed sapphire cristal, The grey-fume dial is matched with an unsaturated green Super LumiNova that mimics what 50-year old degraded tritium would look like. To complete the contrast with the dial, the seconds hand has been given a deep red lacquer.
Just like the original, the “Spirit of Sixty-Five” by Oris is waterproof to 100 meters with a screw-down crown and back case. The back case is engraved with the number of watches manufactured.
The “Spirit of Sixty-Five” will be delivered on a vintage-brown leather strap.
