It has been less than a year now since the delivery of the Royal Officer “CC Edition” by Angelo del Mare , and now has come the time for its bronze to shine

The Royal Officer “CC Edition” by Angelo del Mare is a nostalgic “look back” at the first  diver/activity/action watches from the 50’s but adjusted to today’s modern proportions. This one grows to 45mm in diameter when most early pioneering divers (if one can even call then that) where approximately 34mm in size. Needless to say that the waterproofing performance has also been considerably improved since.

Summer is finally upon us it might be time to take the juggernaut out for a stroll. After a very long lockdown time to feel the breeze of the sea on ones face. Never do I recall the anticipation to see , touch and smell the sea like now. Nothing like a bronze watch to take for a swim.

A swim in the sea is long overdue. To be honest I can’t wait to put it back on a canvas strap and enjoy every day how oxidation affects the bronze in different ways. Everyday that passes adds a bit of character to it.

As with all bronze watches, the Royal Officer will gain distinct and unique patina characteristic to every owner. Every Royal Officer will be unique in character due to its owner’s chemistry and lifestyle. Bronze reacts in a very unique way depending on the environment it is subjected to.

New vs. Old

Despite its considerable size the Royal Officer is a wonderful summer bronze watch. No cutting edges and a wonderful double-domed sapphire glass.  The feel on the wrist is just right even on medium size wrists.
